About Me

I’m Ufuk, a game, level, and narrative designer/writer with experience across multiple genres and game engines. I specialise in bridging the gap between high-level story concepts and playable mechanics. With professional roots at Rovio Entertainment, I specialise in data-informed level design and the technical implementation of narrative systems. And I love telling stories; not only through words, but through all the building blocks of interactive narrative.

In a nutshell:

  • Game Designer: I design systems, mechanics, enemies, and quests. My experience ranges from rapid mobile prototyping to building narrative-focused action-adventure games on Steam.

  • Level Design: I spent a year at Rovio designing 350+ levels for Angry Birds: Dream Blast. Statistically, 42% of them were "high-earning" hits; realistically, if you’ve ever been stuck on a level, it’s probably my fault.

  • Narrative Designer: Beyond writing fiction and scripts, I focus on implementation. I have experience designing and co-implementing narrative systems and branching dialogue directly in-engine to ensure the story feels "playable."

  • Full-Cycle Development: My experience includes mobile prototyping and shipping narrative-focused action-adventure titles on Steam. I own the design process from documentation to final implementation. I’m efficient at utilising LLMs to accelerate visual scripting, debugging, and rapid prototyping to reduce development cycles.

  • Banjo Player: Still learning the ropes, but slowly getting there...
